The five-ring circus that is Charlie Sheen is returning to Canadian TV immediately following the five-ring circus known as the Olympics.

CTV has announced that Sheen's new series Anger Management, which debuted on FX in the U.S. late last month, will make its Canadian debut Sunday, Aug. 12. The pilot of Anger Management will air immediately following the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics, which also will be on CTV.

Subsequently, the series will air regularly on CTV starting in September.

Anger Management attracted about five and a half million viewers on FX in the U.S. for its first two episodes, which aired back-to-back on June 28. However, numbers for the third episode on July 5 dipped to less than three and a half million Americans.

One of the reasons CTV decided to delay its debut of Anger Management is that the Olympics would have meant pre-empting the series for two or three weeks in July and August anyway. FX in the States, of course, does not have to worry about Olympic coverage.
